Here is a small "book review" on one of the latest additions to our Media Center....

"Tea With Hezbollah"

by Ted Decker & Carl Medearis

The authors of this book, while sipping iced tea in the good ol' USA, agreed that one question haunted them both as Christians.  What does, if anything at all, the parable of "the good Samaritian", and the commandment of Jesus in saying "to love the Lord your God, with all your soul, with all your heart, with all your mind, and with all your strength..and to love your neighbor as yourself." mean to today's world????  Then to complicate things more, as was asked in the Bible, "Who is your neighbor?"

These two set out on a two year expedition of finding the truth of the matter.  The author (Decker), vividly paints word picture after picture of their hazardous journey.  Why hazardous, to find the answer to such a "loving" question?  That would be because of who you asked it of!

That is where the term "neighbor" boldly comes into play. Danger and surprises are inevitable when your travels include Israel, Syria, Jordan, the West Bank, Palestine, and more.  Secret appointments with the highest ranking officials of tribes, cults, religious clerics, radical extremists, and actually Samaritans.

All this to ask the aforementioned two questions....and record their opinion of the verse's value in "today's world".  And, their view on the Man who stated the two commandments originally, Jesus Christ. Who is He...to them?

A very interesting read, not just due to an excellent flowing plot, but what is learned from our "neighbors", who now, I'm not sure are the enemies.

Recommended reading, that will give you a full course meal if you are looking for "food for thought".
